Simplicity, elegance and luxury. Its Prada. This Italian fashion house was established in Milan in 1913 by Mario Prada. It started as a leather goods company selling shoes, bags and other leather items. When Miuccia Prada inherited the company from her grandfather she changed the company's direction towards haute couture and presented the first ready-to-wear collection in 1989. Miuccia seemed very unlikely a successful candidate for heading a fashion company. She was a former mime artist with a PhD in political sciences. But Miuccia proved everyone wrong and now Prada is one of the top luxury fashion brands. Lately Prada's business went up following Hollywood movie Devil wears Prada.
